a powerful and delicious warm winter drink!

2 Ounces of Single Origin Hot Chocolate from Askinosie (or your choice)

2 shots Root Neutral Spirits with North American Herbs and Pure Cane Sugar

1 shot Fernet Branca Menta

Freshly whipped cream

Fresh ground nutmeg

1. Prepare a mug with boiling water to heat through.

2. Pour out the water, the mug should be really hot.

3. Add Branca Menta, then the Root liquor, then top with Hot Chocolate. Finish with a large spoonful of freshly whipped cream topped with fresh ground nutmeg.

4. Make a second mug and hand to the closest person to you.

5. Drink up!

that lightheaded feeling I tend to get when I walk into City Bakery.  There’s the warm chocolate churning, and the homemade marshmallows stacked quietly on the end of the counter, the pastries smiling up at me, the bowls of beautiful salads and perfect soups…then of course, the waft of fresh…

Pretzel Croissants!

Somebody stop them. I’m not sure if there is really anything better in the world than their crispy, buttery, salty shell enclosing the warm chewy center on a freezing day. Its definitely one of those things in life that makes everything OK. – at least for the life of the divine thing, which tends to be short when I’m eating it.
