receiving…

these scans last week in a lovely email from my once instructor, now friend.

Stephanie Bower

is an architect, illustrator and incredible inspiration.

I’m especially enamored with the work because it truly is a dying art.

[This work is from a couple of sketchbooks she filled on trips to Spain and India last fall - so beautiful!]

When did my sketchbook die?

Stupid iPhone.

returning…

to the desert next week!

These beauties are from 1 month ago when spring was really taking hold down there.

Nothing like the insane Lilacs and Cherry Blossoms of this week here, but still completely magic.

I’m hoping I haven’t missed the Saguaro with their little white flower caps…

a couple of weeks ago…

I had the pleasure of attending a marvelous presentation given by the wonderful

Bijoy Jain

of

Studio Mumbai

@

The Architectural League

the work becomes  so much more beautiful (if that’s even possible) when you imagine the construction and design team sleeping on site under glass lanterns hanging from the trees, and lovely women in bright saris stopping by to trowel a floor on the way to a wedding…you could almost smell the monsoon water filling the perfect wells…

The magic of a proper process is an incredible inspiration,

even knowing that our version of the world is choosing Revit models over handmade ones.
